My father told me I could have FIFA 19 if I learned to code first, so at ten I picked up Grasshopper. Something about writing a few lines and watching this little character do exactly what I told it to stuck with me more than the game ever did. I started with Lua because I wanted to make Roblox games, and each thing I've wanted to build since has pulled me into something new. I work mostly in TypeScript and Rust now.
Somewhere along the way I fell into machine learning and it changed how I think about everything I'd written before. All of my code up to that point was deterministic - you write the logic, you know what it does. ML is fundamentally different. The system learns its own logic and your job is to understand why. That question hasn't let go of me since.
I run d11, an AI systems studio here in Dubai. We work with businesses to figure out where AI fits and then build it. I also train jiu-jitsu.
